Our Chats have resulted in the forming of some dear friendships. We make friends without thinking ahead to the possibility of losing them. Now, we have lost one.
Harry first joined our chats nearly three years ago when Bob introduced him to us.
Joanne, Harry's wife, was going through some serious health problems, and I remember
how distraught Harry was the first time he joined us. It didn't take long for him
to become a "regular" in the sharing, support and lighthearted banter that the chats provide.
We were becoming a big family of diverse personalities, tossed together by who-knew-what.
It was at the first Jackstock that a number of us got to meet....and experience the MAGIC.
I will never forget the hugs, the tears at the airport and our all laughing ourselves silly,
complaining that our sides ached!!! I knew about Harry's physical problems.........or so I thought.
It wasn't until much later that we found out how sick he really was.
How lucky we were to have met him!
This page is dedicated to Harry...to his love for life, his love for his family and the
love that we all developed for each other. It is a celebration of his life, and of his having touched us
all with his sensitivity, sense of humor and the fight that kept him here as long as it did. Luv ya, Sweety!
To Joanne and the rest of Harry's family, may you take some comfort in knowing that Harry's
friends are your friends and that you are in our thoughts.
-Marcia (Mush) Berkall-
I consider myself very fortunate to have recently had the opportunity to meet
Harry in person. He was as sweet and lovable as Mush had described him and
he made a great effort to entertain us during our visit, showing us his shop and
talking about carving and online people he had met. It was not evident to me
how ill he actually was at the time.
I was having some car trouble at Jackstock so we decided not to make the 3 ½
hour trip to Harry’s but Mush’s flight was canceled the next morning. That was
a little too much of a coincidence for either of us so we rented a car and took off
after calling Harry to make sure it was still okay to come. I’m so glad we did!
I sure hope Harry got as much pleasure out of our visit as we did.
Thanks for waiting, Harry, love ya.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Harry. But I did on many occasions
had
the enjoyment of his company by email or by ICQ. I truly will miss
him-as he
indeed was a true friend. May you rest in Peace and forever be in God's
Hands.

I met Harry about three years ago at Silver Dollar City
when I was the resident carver there and Harry was on vacation. Even
though I didn't know him well, I always remembered the wonderful visit we had
whenever I saw his name on the list.
