Once again, Jackstock was a huge success. For me it's a family reunion...seeing
cherished loved ones again and getting to meet long lost relatives...people I've talked
to but haven't had the opportunity to put the faces with the names before. The weekend is one
big party...carving, laughing, lots of hugs, great food, carving, hugs, laughing etc. . etc.
Highlights are too numerous to list, but here are a few:
Watching Dave's expression as he walked up the driveway. It didn't take him long to realize we were
really harmless.
Seeing Barb; Mary and Kate; Jack, Caroline and Eric: Cliff and Avril; Byron and Anne; and Brian again.
Getting to meet Dave; Lon and Mary; Art and Dorothy; all of Barb's friends who visited, cooked and otherwise
had a presence.
A scenic drive to see Linda, who wasn't able to make the trip to Barb's.
Hunting for cottonwood bark with Art and the gang..... and nearly getting stuck in a field as the irrigation system
came on :)
Getting to see parts of this country that I probably otherwise wouldn't see.....and an almost life-long
desire to see Yellowstone finally fulfilled. Watch for pictures of that trip with Mary, Kate and Barb!
Being silly in the hot tub with Mary and Barb. Sorry, Kate, for keeping you awake with our
boisterous silliness!
Learning to juggle!!! Thank, Mary!!!
The truth is that even if we all just sat and twiddled our thumbs, it would have been special...but it
was sooooo much more!
Thank you Barb. Your hard work and meticulous planning payed off. It was wonderful.
The only negative part of the whole Jackstock experience.....saying goodbye...but.....there's next year to look,
forward to.
