No, I guess not. In the midst of my cleaning frenzy, I had to stop and say “Aren’t
they ever going to get here so I can stop cleaning???” …….. and they did!!! …and I did!!!
What a wonderful bunch of people our group is. I couldn’t find better friends if they dropped from the sky for me. Hmmm, I guess that’s just what some of them did. The rest drove.
We had Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, Ohio, Michigan and Maine represented this year. Some who wanted, or had planned to come from Oregon, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Iowa and New Hampshire, (and probably others - I keep my memory in my computer - and it’s getting old, too) couldn’t make it but they were missed.
We didn’t do anything exciting like our Oregon experience last year. I don’t think there’s much to do or see around here. In my opinion, Cabela’s and Crafts 2000 are the highlights. I’m sure there must be more things to do than that but I’m not familiar with them. I didn’t think anyone wanted to go to the zoo in this heat. (We do have a nice one of those along with heat and humidity) Cosi would have been nice if I’d thought of it last week instead of just now.
Fishing and kayaking weren’t practical so we just sat around, carved, chatted and laughed together and everyone seemed to have a nice, relaxing time as long as the fans were running full speed.
Sounds pretty dull but I guess you had to be there.

What a great time I had! But there's no surprise there. When you get such terrific people together
you can't miss. It always amazes me how you can get people from such diverse backgrounds together and
they just "click". I guess having that common interest in carving.....no...its more than that.
....it's a love of carving...... creates an automatic bond that's so strong you can feel it immediately.
This was the second time I have experienced Mary and Tom's hospitality. And again, I enjoyed every
minute of it. Thank you! Now, if we could just not have to deal with heat and/or humidity.
What do you think of a winter Jackstock?? :)
We sure missed all those who weren't able to get there. Somehow once you go to a Jackstock, it
doesn't feel right if you aren't at the rest of them. Just go to one and you'll understand!
Thanks Mary and Tom and Kate....and Brian....and.....and .....
Love you all......see you in South Dakota in '06!
