This was my second trip to Jackstock and something I had looked forward too all year. I had decided to
drive out to Maine this year and although it was a long trip it enabled me to see parts of the country I had
never been to. Looking back it was well worth the effort. A fall drive through New York, Vermont, New
Hampshire and Maine was a visual feast. We live in such a diverse and beautiful country. I hope to be
able to do the same in states that I have missed in the past.
I was really amazed when I found my way to Mush's house without a false turn. And then the fun began
full force. How wonderful to see the great people I had met before and meet some I hadn't. Although we
all talk often it is always special when we finally get together in person. Mush and Joe's new sun
room/studio was a bright and happy place for all of us and we crammed ourselves in there with room left
over. We enjoyed each others company with stories and jokes, delicious food, sharing ideas and tips,
more stories and jokes, and much laughter. We even had a bit of show and tell.
Saturday was outside with beautiful weather and a wonderful dinner of steak and Maine Lobster. Mike
(Squirt) managed to share his lobster will almost everybody at the table in his own special way. Charlie
entertained us all with his birdie brand sense of humor. I came away with many warm and fuzzy
memories and some gifts I shall always treasure. Special thanks to our delightful hosts Joe and Mush.
On my drive home I managed to meet a few of our missing members. Bette and Wolfgang in Michigan
graciously invited me to stay, Doug came to go to a show with us, and Lon and Mary are now convinced
they must come to next year's Jackstock. Thank you all.
See you all next year!
